Day 31 Elkton, VA 24.8 Miles

Day 31 Elkton, VA 24.8 Miles

Today was when we started hiking with a guy named E.T. and he would change how we hiked forever. It was also the first day we would get to eat at whats called a Wayside in the Shenandoah National Park. These little restaurants are known for their blackberry ice cream and shakes but they also had burgers and other food. It was great to be able to have the option of eating our regular granola bars and tuna or to eat a burger and fries and wash it down with a shake. Take a wild guess at what we did. At this wayside, we also ate with E.T. and we started devising a plan of how we would go 32 miles instead of the planned 20 miles. We would end up only going 24.8 miles because the rain came but it would be our longest day yet and we were pretty happy about it.

Little birdy, none of the wildlife in the Shenandoah's seemed to be afraid of us.
