Day 32-The Pinnacle Camping Ground 29.8 Miles

Day 32-The Pinnacle Camping Ground 29.8 Miles

Once again, we would beat our best day mainly because Rocky and E.T. started scheming about how we could go farther. We didn't get back on the trail from Elkton until around 10:30am so we would have to be hiking late to hit our goal. Things began falling into our laps at our first Wayside, about 17 miles in where we met a nice woman who offered to slack pack us 10 miles down the road to the Skyland Resort where she was staying. It was a great plan and we ended up getting to Skyland in a less than 3 hours but we ran into some trouble once we got there. We weren't getting an answer from the telephone number she had given us to call after trying for an hour. We were beginning to get worried. All of our belongings were in this woman's car and we would be pretty screwed if we didn't get them back. Luckily, E.T. sweet talked the manager into telling us where they were staying and agreeing to call them for us. Apparently, their phones never rang but the important thing was that we got our stuff back. After eating some late night dinner at Skyland, we hit the road around 10:30pm. We were starting our first bit of Moon Blazing(hiking at night) and it was a great place to do it. We didn't even need our headlamps on because we walked on the road and it was a great night for it. Probably our favorite day yet, it was full of adventure from the start.
