Day 49 Duncannon to Peters Mountain Shelter 11.3 Miles
It was a rough day getting out of Duncannon. It was hot and the first few miles of our day were on the open road with no tree shade to hide us from the sun. Once we did get back onto the trail we had a 1000ft. climb up a rocky mountain that left us drained of energy. We had planned on going around 18 miles to a campsite but once we reached Peters Mountain Shelter we decided we weren't going any further. We had done enough miles the past few days to have a short day and we were happy to rest.
