Day 51 Campsite to Hertline Campsite 17.6 Miles
Today started out as a pretty good day. We had spent the night at a campsite with a bunch of people whose company we enjoyed and we knew we were going to eat lunch at the 501 shelter, a shelter that has a shower and can get pizza delivered to, which we did. Not a bad thing to know you are going to be enjoying in a few hours. However, after a few hours in Rocky was going through his bag and realized he had left his bag with his wallet and phone somewhere behind in the past day. The only place he remembered taking it out was when we got the trail magic with Maun and Ten Bears. After freaking out for a little while, we remembered that we told Maun about our blog and sure enough, she had left us a message saying she gave the bag to Wyoming. Wyoming is a great guy we had been running into on and off again since we started the trail and he actually busted out a 30 mile day so that he could catch us. Thankfully, Mike got his stuff back and we got our pizza and shower at the 501 shelter. After that, we went a few more miles and camped with a married couple named Snuggles and Lazy-Boy who we had also grown very fond of. Overall it was a great day.
