Day 23- Groovin' into Johns Hollow Shelter- 21.6 Miles
Like I said, for some reason we really started moving after day 22. We were in store for another rocky day ahead, going from 3100ft to 4300ft, then back down to 670ft . It's amazing how wonderful weather can change your perspective all around. When its sunny outside with a nice breeze, everything feels easier. We went almost 22 miles today and I swear it went so fast. On the latter portion of our day, ole Rocky was in for a surprise as Hey Jude jumped 50 ft off the James River Foot Bridge( the longest foot only bride on the AT). Although the water looked like a human waste disposal, supposedly it felt amazing. After that treat, we headed to the shelter, set up our hammocks, and watched Hey Jude take care of the fire once again. Man fires are AMAZING.
