Day 26-Leaving Buena Vista 14.0 Miles to Seeley-Woodworth Shelter
It took us a little longer to hitch a ride today and after an hour and a half, we were about ready to give up until Julian to the rescue. A very nice truck driver from Illinois who graciously picked us up. Once we reached the trail head and after the initial 2.8 miles, it was all smooth sailing. We started the day at 2065ft and had to climb up to 4060ft, which was a pretty tough climb, but once we reached the top we pretty much stayed there all day with a few ups and downs. We stayed at a great shelter with some extremely nice people named Smurf and Cub, a married couple from Ripley, Mississippi. We made a great fire this night and traded stories about the trail and ate entirely too much jambalaya.
