Today we headed out of Waynesboro. We didn't get on the trail until around 11:30am but we knew we were going to go about 20 miles to our destination. Before leaving town, we stopped by the outfitters because our Sawyer Squeeze filter system malfunctioned on us about 5 miles before town. Luckily, the owner of the outfitter already had some things to send back to Sawyer so he gave us a brand new filter system for free. Very nice people there. We would also enter the Shenandoah National Park today, something we had been looking forward to since we started the trail. We had heard from just about everyone that the Shenandoah's had pretty smooth terrain and great views and they were right.
