Day 39-Headed into Washington D.C.
Last night we stayed at the Econo Lodge with Riley and Cade and woke up bright and early at 5:30am so we could catch the 6:50am train into Washington D.C. It would be a great day but a very exhausting one. The owner and operator at the Teahorse Hostel in Harpers Ferry agreed to hold our bags for us while we went into town so we wouldn't be trying to get past security with a 30lb. pack on our back. We saw many things today including Union Station, the Capitol, Air and Space Museum, Natural History Museum, American History Museum, Smithsonian Castle, World War II Memorial, Reflection Pool, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, and the Archives(where the Constitution is kept), it was a full day of walking. At the end of the day, we said goodbye to Cade and Riley and waited to met our gracious host for the next 2 nights, Bill. Bill is one of Rocky's fathers best friends and I cannot express how great he was to both of us. He picked us up by Union Station in D.C. and took us to his very nice home in Ashburn, which was about 45 minutes out of his way. Thanks again Bill.
