Day 24-Into Buena Vista- 20.1 Miles
Since we were on such a tear the last few days, we thought what the hell, lets get into Buena Vista. The elevation change today was from 1030ft to 3400ft, then back down to 970ft, and everything in between. Terrain was rocky at times. but overall the trail was well maintained, as it usually is close to towns. We set out pretty early, with our initial plan make into town around 6pm. Really not much happen on the way, other than the usual discussions of our everyday lives. I'm sure you're thinking our day is over when we reach the road, but not so fast, we still have to hitch a ride almost 10 miles into town. Before this trip, I would of bet my life savings, which isn't much, that it would be near impossible to hitch a ride.Thankfully, I would have been wrong, and after only 10 minutes of hitching, we were picked up by a generous family. From that point on, all that was on our minds was the Mexican food we were about to destroy.
