Day 28-Headed into Waynesboro-21.0 Miles
We knew today was going to be a long one, so we set our alarms for 5:00am and made it up finally at 6:00am and hit the trail by 6:45am. It was pretty smooth sailing most of the day with the exception of Humpback Mountain. The weather was mostly in our favor, it was overcast all day and looking like it was going to downpour at any second but it held off until our last 7 miles of the day. We also saw a black bear cub today, which was very cool but also scary at the same time because you know Momma bear is somewhere nearby. We also were very lucky with our hitching today and were picked up in about 10 minutes despite being soaking wet and hanging out underneath an overpass. Once we finally made it into Waynesboro, we immediately went to Ming Garden, a fantastic Chinese Buffet we had been hearing about for the past 2 weeks. It's funny how when you are on the trail, everyone is always talking about the enormous amount of food they are going to eat as soon as they get into town.
